My heart has been overjoyed with the comments that have been posted in support of this great idea of having a Social Network developed for Seventh day Adventist Youth. I want to thank all of you who have contributed through your very very positive comments. we are encouraged to go on with this dream for our precious youth around the world. It will not be easy but we got to do it!! Our youth deserve it!! We now live in the world of internet and cannot afford to neglect our youth without providing them with such sites. This is the 21st century. Our church must be in the front burner of ensuring that we march with the times in which we live in.
Our youth spend most of their time hanging out in these chat rooms. If we want to minister and reach our youth we got to develop this kind of site. We have to go where our youth spend their quality time. I want to see a site where our youth can visit and talk with their friends 24/7. We are not going to compete with social network sites like "Myspace Hi5, or Facebook." But we will come up with a site that you will be proud of as a Seventh day Adventist youth. It will be a site that will be another "Wow" in the history of Youth Ministry.
It is my honest desire that if we develop a social network it must be a world class one. It must have quality. Seventh day Adventist environment. Informative and Mission oriented. One which our youth will be proud of. We will keep you updated. And for all of you who are waiting for this social network keep on checking out my blog from time to time. If you have any ideas to be considered as we work on this dream let us know.
Continue to pray for this dream!! Please Pray, Pray!!!
May God bless you and keep you safe in all you do in your daily walk,
Your Friend
Baraka

Hi Pastor Muganda,
I'm an adventist guy from Mexico City. I have read your comments and ideas and they sound very interesting to me, and it's very good that you, our leaders, are interested in using new social technologies.
I have a software development company and at least 80% members of the company are adventist. We know about building Internet sites and stuff like Facebook, hi5, etc. It's not an easy task to build something like that, and it requires money, people, etc.
So, I was thinking, why we just don't use what already exists? For example, we could use Facebook to create a community for Adventist people, and also, we could use it to share our beliefs and ideas with non-adventist people.
I think that could be a "faster" way to have something for the adventist people in all the world.
Thanks for reading. Keep posting about all this! God bless you.

Thank you for writing. And I take your comments very seriously. For the time being we are researching with a group of young people who are representing all of you out there in coming up with a Wow Site that you will be proud of.
Yes it will be expensive but every good thing for our youth even if it is expensive it is worth it!! Just keep on praying for us and thank you for offering your services.
Our youth deserve the best and this is my goal for Adventist Youth.
You will be updated so check my blog from time to time.
Hi, there is a webste bythe Generation of Youth for Christ called Army of Youth. It's site's main purpose isn't social networking like so many other ites are. Social networking is only 1/4th of the site. The other is meant to equipt youth with tools needed to spread the Word. Another fourth of the site is "deploy" for getting youth in contact with local ministries.
It was set up by young people: www.armyofyouth.org
What do you think?
Hi I check it out the site you have refered to in your comment. it is a great site and am very happy to see our youth so active. These sites by youth for youth are affirming the need to produce a site for them. Soon we will be sharing with our youth what we have for them. You will be so happy. Keep us in your prayers

Mr. Muganda,
I am application developer with a M.S. in Information Technology Mgt. I am currently developing a social networking site that will be exclusively for all adventists. The site will have the features that are available on myspace. Currently I am using personal funds to develop the site. I am happy to see that the church leadership is interested in providing the social networking service for our youth, however; I also believe that the most youth will be less likely to use a "church sponsored" site as much as myspace or facebook. I believe that the first version of the site may be ready within two months. My opinion is based on my experience as an information technology manager that is familiar with user testing and personas.
Irie blessings to all. I'm writing from Jamaica, and a team of us are in the planning stages of developing a site to address this very issue. It would be really great for us as youth to have a place online. And it just hit me: what if it were a joint venture, joining forces and wit to create a site to serve our youth?
I would be excited to help test out the website when it's ready before it's released to the world wide web. Since I'm a youth, I would be in your age range, correct? What do you think? Please respond if you're interested.
Hi Pastor Muganda
Could you give leadership lineup from you down to my union in South Africa.

Mr. Muganda, I read the information about GC creating a social network. I contacted you a few months back requesting when this will take place and that I was looking into creating a social network for Adventist. Since then, I have found number of Adventist social networks out there. The one I created is located at http://sdalinkup.com . It is a work in progress and the hope is that we can all work together to spread the message.
I am happy to see our denomination going in a direction such as this.
Thx
Hello Pastor Muganda,
I am a member of several Adventist social networks. Many of them have potential (slick design, etc.) but only one seems to have what really matters... Adventist members that are actually using the site! It is the most active Adventist forum and site I've seen (according to Alexa statistics). Check it out:

God bless,

Hi Everyone,
I was actually searching for such a network when i came across this section. It would definitely be a good thing to have a Network that is, not restricted to Seventh Day Adventist, but for all who desire to know more, be corrected and learn that the Ten Commandments is for all. For all who are looking for the second coming of Christ . (In such a time when everyone should have a Bible)It is sad to know there are still persons who are clueless to the existence of God's plan of salvation and the role His Law plays in it. Not Just The Sabbath, but ALL TEN. Observing and acknowledging the Sabbath will save no one, just as being honest ALONE won't. It all needs to be acknowledged.
